Join the tribe…

Little Tribe Children’s Foundation is an emerging new nonprofit that has been created to raise money for arts and music therapy programs for ailing, challenged and underprivileged kids. We believe in the healing power of art and music and choose to support programs that offer these valuable experiences to children in need. We are currently raising donations for a variety of arts & music therapy programs in our local Northern California Region. With the support of our community we hope to heal the hearts and spirits of kids through harmonics and color.

This event is proudly sponsored by: HopMonk Tavern, Zack Darling Creative Associates, Wisdom Creations, Decadance, Mystic Beat Lounge, Juke Joint, Double D Productions, Jade Turgel Photography, WBLK Dancehall Massive & More TBA.

Nahko & Medicine For The People

Oregon-native Nahko, born a mix of Apache, Puerto Rican, and Filipino cultures and adopted into an American family, suffered an identity crisis from an early age. But the unifying power of music entered his life as a healing remedy, when he took up the piano at age six. Armed with his newfound talent, he set out to bridge the cultural gaps dividing his own psyche and began producing a public, musical journal of his journey toward personal, spiritual, and communal healing.

From his hometown of Portland to the shores of Hawaii or Bali, wherever he has traveled, Nahko is joined by a tribe of culturally alienated truth seekers for whom Nahko’s story resonates with their own, and who find redemption in his voice, guitar, flute, and drum. Whether solo or with the dynamic group of musical troubadours known as “Medicine for the People,” Nahko delivers a soulful dose of curative vibrations that moves audiences to dance, laugh, and cry. His ‘spirited redemption music’ lays bear the scars of cultural wounds, environmental wrongs, and social injustices. His lyrics bear the burden of heavy messages, but the load is lightened by agile melodies and driving rhythms that coerce all who bear witness into spirited, purifying, movement. His humor disarms, and his lyrical stories open listeners to the power of “Real Talk Music”—songs that reveal an honesty and depth so raw, it inspires an internal revival that echoes out into the world. Sometimes exuberant, sometimes savage, but always transformational, Nahko makes the movement move.

Tevya Jones - Wisdom Creations

With the 2013 release of his new album, Full Spectrum, Wisdom’s unique blend of conscious lyrics with live hip-hop and reggae continues to gain attention nationwide. Wisdom won the category of “Best Hip Hop/Rap” in the 2005 North Bay Music Awards and was labeled “one of Nor Cal’s favorites” by Urb Magazine (Massv Global Getdown, Dec 2004). Wisdom was also a featured artist on Volkswagen and Teva Corporations’ music release called “Tevanthology,” and headlined their show in Utah in 2004. He hosted Reggae on the River 2005 and was a featured guest artist performing with the Pharcydes’ Tré Hardsen and Michael Franti from Spearhead after performing live with his own band in 2004 (20,000+ attendees) and headlining Earthdance International Festival 2003-05 (7,000+ attendees). Chris Deckker, founder of Earthdance International Festival, affirmed that Wisdom is “one of the most progressive and conscious bands to emerge from the hip-hop culture. Truly an electrifying performance!” Carol Bruno, lead producer of the legendary Reggae on the River festival, agreed. She beamed: “Wisdom is conscious, lyrical, cutting edge hip-hop laced with reggae dancehall beats…

Zack Darling

In 2012 Zack won the Bohemian’s “Best DJ in the North Bay” award, performed at Shoreline Amphitheater and DJ’d on the Fillmore stage directly after Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne for Metallica’s 30th anniversary celebration. His unique style of rock mashup dance floor fusion has built him loyal audiences at festivals, clubs, concerts, living rooms and car stereos. Zack’s DJ career spans over 20 years and began as a 14 year electro-reggae-punk DJ playing late night sessions on public and pirate radio stations in the woods of Northern California. He’s since dropped multi-genre-smackdown dance sets on night clubs and parties large and small. His mixes are expressions of the alignment between Mashups and bass-heavy dance floor beats. Zack runs the popular new website where fans of this sound explosion can saturate their spirits in bass-heavy dancefloor mashup wompers.
